Your concern
I would like to travel to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK on the day of the match by Deutsche Bahn, public transport or taxi.
General
SIGNAL IDUNA PARK is very easy to reach by public transport. The train stops Stadion, Westfallenhallen and Theodor-Fliedner-Heim are within walking distance in a few minutes.

Questions & Answers
Can I use public transport free of charge with my ticket?
The season ticket is also valid as a ticket. Since this season, the entitlement to travel (on the day of the match and until 3 a.m. the following day) is valid in the entire state of North Rhine-Westphalia and thus in the means of transport of the VRR, WestfalenTarif, VRS, AVV (2nd class). Please note that a separate ticket is now required for digital tickets such as the print@home variant if you use public transport to get to and from the stadium.
The DSW21 ticket can be ordered online free of charge. Here's how it works:
- View https://kombiticket.dsw21.de/
- Select "BVB match" for ticket type
- Enter the barcode number and click "verify"
- Enter contact details and "save" them
- Click on "Send this ticket by email"
The DSW21 ticket will be sent by e-mail.
The Unishuttle (departure from Otto-Hahn-Straße) runs from three hours before kick-off and until two hours after the final whistle.
Are there special trains on match day?
As soon as Deutsche Bahn uses special trains, this will be announced on the Homepage of the German Railroad (DB).
Are the costs for train and public transport included in the ticket?
Yes. The entitlement to travel is valid (on the day of the match and until 3 a.m. the following day) in the entire state of North Rhine-Westphalia and thus on the means of transport of the VRR, WestfalenTarif, VRS, AVV (2nd class). To travel from other federal states, you also need a train ticket to travel to NRW.
Where can I find the daily updated timetables for train and public transport on match day?
You can find the DSW21 timetable information at the DSW21. At the Deutsche Bahn you can also find out about the current timetables.
Which app should you use for public transport on match day?
Both Deutsche Bahn and many municipal providers have apps. For example, you can use the DSW21 App or the DB Navigator. The Rhine-Ruhr Transport Association also has its own App.
When do the last trains and buses leave the stadium?
The DSW21 determines individually for each matchday when the last trains run. This depends on the type of game, kick-off time and other factors. In consultation with the DSW21, we naturally try to make the departure times as fan-oriented as possible so that everyone gets home safe and relaxed. You can find information on this at the DSW21.
What time should you take a taxi to the stadium?
Until the stadium opens (2.5 hours before kick-off), you can take a taxi to the vicinity of the stadium. From about an hour before kick-off, traffic jams and queues form around the stadium in front of the parking lots. Then it makes more sense to be dropped off a little further away from the stadium.
Where do taxis depart from the stadium after the match?
After the final whistle of the game, the street in front of the stadium will be closed to cars for some time. Then you can usually find taxis at the Wittekindstraße as well as at the Max-Ophüls-Platz.
