Borussia Dortmund is proud of its large BVB family, which represents the club not only in Germany, but all over the world. A very important part of this family is made up of the BVB fan clubs, which have grown steadily since the first fan club was founded in the 70s. BVB is now pleased with the incredible number of over 995 officially registered BVB fan clubs, in which more than 60,000 fans are organised.

A fan club is defined by the community of several fans who share their common joy of football and BVB. The place of residence of the fan club members often plays a role, which has been brought together by the connection to the city of Dortmund and BVB.

Questions & Answers

How do I start a fan club? 

Registering as an official BVB fan club is straightforward. However, you must have at least 15 members and accept our admission conditions by signing. All further steps are explained in detail in the admission conditions . In addition, you can download all other documents and sample documents (model statutes, founding minutes, etc.) on our homepage .

What are the advantages of a fan club?

As a registered fan club, you have the opportunity to participate twice a year with two representatives in the fan delegate conferences as well as in the annual fan club Christmas party. In addition, we offer your fan club the opportunity to take part in the fan club flag parade to "You'll never walk alone" on the pitch before every home game. 

In addition, you will receive access to the fan club tool and can order free raffle items for your planned fan club event from us once a year and invite fan representatives to your event. 

Fan clubs also have the opportunity to order tickets for matches. A fan club contingent is available for this purpose. However, the fan club must be active and have been officially registered with BVB for at least three years. Even after the three-year embargo period has expired, there is never an entitlement to tickets. The allocation is made by the fan representatives.

How many people do I need to start a fan club? 

The first requirement is: You must be at least 15 people to found a fan club. Then you're ready to go.

What do I have to consider when setting up a fan club?

During your start-up, you will create a founding protocol to ensure that everything is correct, e.g. that the contact persons have been democratically elected. 

And: You have to create an attendance list that is signed by everyone. So we can understand that the members were also present. 

In addition, it is necessary that at least one chairman must also be a member of BVB.

What is the "fan club data"?

Here you enter the data of your fan club and the 1st and 2nd chairman. For the founding date, please enter the date of your founding meeting. 

What do I need the statutes for? 

In the statutes you must, for example, the elections of the board of directors and a regulated cash audit. If everything is properly documented, the statutes avoid possible disagreements among your members.

What do we need the membership list for?

Finally, you have to create a list of members so that we can see who is listed as a member of your fan club. Of course, this is done taking into account the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

Where do the documents have to go? 

When you have everything together, you send the whole thing to fanclubs@bvb.de.

The fan representatives check the documents for completeness and if everything fits, only one thing is missing: the get-to-know-you meeting. 

How does the introductory interview take place?

This conversation takes place during a home game in the stadium with the fan representatives. You introduce yourself and your fan club personally and the fan representatives ask you one or two questions.

It is important that at least two board members of your fan club must be present. But you don't have to bring anything with you.
