Article summary

Your Request

I want to go to the stadium as a person with a disability and know what I should be aware of.

General Information

Borussia Dortmund offers all fans with disabilities a wide range of services at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK and is therefore an important part of social inclusion in Dortmund. For our visitors, not only technical aids are available in various areas adapted to the disability, but also a special service by our many volunteers.

Questions & Answers

Where can I park?

Disabled parking spaces are available in car parks C1, C2 and A8. Prices are €8 for C1 & C2 and €9 for A8 respectively.

A parking permit for car parks C1 and C2 can be ordered via the e-mail address parkschein@bvb.de. When ordering, please send or specify the desired match, the desired parking space, proof of severe disability and a billing address. Orders can be placed up to 3 days before the match. Since parking capacities are limited, parking spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I bring a walker?

No walkers are permitted as walking aids, as bulky objects outside the wheelchair spaces in blocks 3 and 6 can no longer ensure a smooth evacuation of the spectators.

Where can I find the disabled toilets?

Disabled toilets are located in the west and east stands, in the immediate vicinity of the wheelchair spaces. A Euro key is not necessary.

Is there a catering service?

A catering service is offered in the blocks for wheelchair users and the visually impaired.

There is a kiosk near Block 34 that is geared towards communication with hearing-impaired people. Order cards are available there and the staff is prepared for notification. The cash register, where a cashier who speaks sign language works, is marked with a hearing-impaired symbol.

What special features need to be considered for wheelchair spaces?

From the wheelchair spaces you have a clear view of the pitch. The access paths are paved/tarred, but due to the steep gradient they can only be reached with accompaniment. The accompanying person sits behind the wheelchair user.

The pitches are covered, but we recommend weatherproof clothing, as the roof is very high up.

Will the game be translated into sign language?

During the match, a sign language interpreter will be on site (in Block 34) to translate all the important information. In addition, there are vibration devices for two seats per row, which signal that the sign language interpreter is going to translate something. Unfortunately, there are currently no overlays on the screen.

How can I watch the game as a visually impaired person?

The handing out and collection of the headphones for the audio commentary (open system, headphones with soft overlay) is done in a block by volunteers against the severely disabled person's pass as a deposit. An audio commentary set up for visually impaired fans and the broadcast of BVB Netradio are available.

In addition, the report for the blind can also be received throughout the stadium via an FM frequency (91.7 MHz).

What do I have to consider when it comes to seats for the blind/visually impaired?

The access paths are paved/tarred. The pitches are covered. Your companion sits next to you and has a clear view of the pitch.

Guide dogs are not allowed.

Who can I contact if I have questions or need help?

The volunteers will be available for questions and assistance throughout the entire season.

Which special entrance do I have to use?

Coming from the south-east, the path leads through the special south entrance (barrier-free), from the north through the players' entrance under the BORUSSEUM (north-east corner, barrier-free, only accompanied by a volunteer). Access to Block 9 is exclusively via the special North-West entrance (not barrier-free) next to the Fan World.
